EA releases 2012 project schedule, CEO says number of projects reduced by 50% t...

EA CEO John Riccitiello confirmed that the number of titles shipped in 2012 will be 50% less than in 2011. Riccitiello said EA would be taking less risks financially and that the projects that are being developed will have minimal financial risk.
"In the “old days", maybe a "flop" would be recouped by a lower budget game that exceeded expectations, a game that could grow into a top tier franchise. With the big publishers, though, that second tier is essentially gone now. There’s no fallback, no surprise hit. Those days are over."
