Matchmaking/Cherrypicking is an issue.
The leader boards would disagree with your literal statement "the issue is that there is just no one to play against". That is not correct and far from the actual truth. I don't know if you are trying to troll or not but you certainly have zero factual support for the inaccurate statement made.

Exactly. Plus the filter only matches you with people close to your skill level. = for a pretty lame night. Then theres the duckers. Hard to get back to back matches.|||

Well if it matched you guys up with guys of lesser levels/higher levels then there would be EVEN MORE CHERRY PICKING.
I say don't allow the guy to back out before a match when they see who they are fighting, it should be counted towards the DNF %. If lag is the issue than have a filter to specify if you want only Green Bars/Yellow and above/ No preference.|||

Erm .... My statement is pretty accurate. Right now, and I'm taking this information right this very second from in game, there are currently 24 people playing online across all weight classes on 360.
I fail to see how that is "BS". Or is a total of 24 players legions of other players?
