I looked at ZvGChartz and it looks like 340,000 sales for both systems and it has been a steady sale of units at least.i want this game to survive because of the following:
1. Live broadcasts! The Devs did an amazing thing with this.
2. Touching gloves. This has been a basic component of MMA since the beginning.
3. Passion. People * and moan on the forums because they care about the game. I believe that even Mr. blu-Ray is repressing those feelings :)
4. Fight cards. Great concept that I hope will grow with price drop.
5. Career mode. I enjoy making the career of so many different types of fighters and trying the styles out online.
6. Strikeforce fighters. I like the company.
7. Sharing your fighters online.
For all my hoping for more DLC and everyone wanting new patches, I just want this game to survive and grow so a 2 will be a no brained for EA.
|||Wasn't a 2 already confirmed and with black ops dlc coming out Tuesday and the fact this game has been in the bargain bin in many stores for the last couple of months I don't think gamestop officially dropping the price helps|||I've saw a LOT of white belts the past two days, a lot with 0-0 records in Fight Cards. I'm just now leveled up to an orange belt and had to fight 2 of those white belts, one of which was 0-0 in a ranked fight. I will say this, I jabbed him and let him have sort of Fight Card type sparring before I finished him off around the end of the 2nd. I kept touching gloves with him every time he got out of a bad situation on his own. I don't feel the need to destroy these new players, if you can easily handle them. I mean I'm not trying to be a saint, I want, for myself, these guys to continue playing, not discouraging them because I could hook spam them in 20 seconds. I also try to send them PM's and stuff telling them that they'll be good players and be able to compete a little bit around their 50th to 100th ranked fight. It's unreal how bad you are one day, fight 5 or 10 fights and it feels like something clicked somewhere, and you just feel more confident. I want new players to have that chance, as well as knowing that right now I'm ahead of them on the learning curve and can always get me some nice wins from them. :) At least until they surpass me in a few weeks.|||The dlc does come out for black ops Tuesday, but I don't know if it will have much affect. I know that Killzone 3 is coming out feb 22, which I will buy. I will still play EA MMA though.
Just think Smoke, it made a difference with us when higher ranked players wouldn't finish us off after 15 seconds of being a human punching bag. By the way, you need to stop winning and start losing more so I can catch up to you. :)|||That may be more of a local thing, as it's still 40 where I am.
I think the game has done very well. It has steady, strong sales numbers.
UFC dropped to 40 dollars a day or two after release on many sites and stores, and has been a renowned massive failure. Even causing them to scrap the 2011 game and get more time to develop it for release in 2012.
In the next 4-6 months, if the game can top 500,000 in sales I have 0 doubt the sequel will become official.
Just checked the numbers and it looks like it had a pretty big jump for PS3 and Xbox 360. Around 27.5 thousand for the week.
With that kind of progress, I'd say by April or May the game will top the 500,000 mark, no doubt about it! Especially with the Strikeforce events coming up.|||It dropped to 19.90€ here in my local Gamestop, but dunno if that's for good or if it's a campaign of some sort..|||EA Sports MMA has hit the bargain bin and it has been confirmed by EA CEO John Riccatiello that no funding for a sequel has been greenlighted.
EA SPorts MMA just is not selling at retail so there is no need to make a sequel.|||
