Ea MMA once every 2 years ? ?

I have just read an article in which it states that EA MMA and Fight Night will be released once every 2 years. So next year EA MMA is released, the year after Fight Night Round 5 is released and so on and so forth.
Anybody here know if there is any truth to this?
If this is the case i hope EA MMA covers everything us fans want as i dont want to wait 2 years to see something added.|||That was the plan when they first announced the game yeah.
For that reason I hope the game will have enough modes to keep us interested for 2 years.|||yhea they said this like 6 months ago......
even still thats better. look at the FN seires. if they relesed that every year it wouldnt be half as good as it doesnt give time to make solid improvments.|||If the game is fluid and strikes looks different almost everytime we fight, and if anything can happen (you throw a punch and miss, but the opponent calculated wrong and walks right into your punch) then online mode will be entertaining me for at least 2 years :)|||It's a great move by EA.|||
I applaud them for that, besides I am sure we will get a UFC game every year to hold us, UFC seems to be a yearly game, I will judge the next UFC 2010 game because that will be the one with all the fixes and feature updates should be made..so it's a excellent year coming up for MMA fans|||

i honestly lost all faith in THQ after undisputed that game was an unfinished project. but due to high sales id say they will change very little. UFC 2011 will be the first time we really see an answer to EA MMA|||It's much better this way, they take two games and cycle them every two years, that will make for huge improvments from title to title|||

Agreed and since the game is not based on a single franchise it doesnt have to get updated every year like games as FIFA and stuff. I still hope they keep supporting the game which DLC though, 2 years is a long time.
Obviously the first months they will do stuff but I wonder if they will still do so after a year. I guess thats when we will see the real difference between EA and THQ.|||I'm giving TS a 4 star for a * * Avartar.|||

EA loves DLC, almost every EA game released in the last 2 years has some form of DLC for it (free and/or premium), so I wouldn't be too worried about them releasing updates. DLC for a game like this is a no brainer anyways, more arenas, more official fighters, more styles for CAFs. I'm sure the CAF system is going to be great but I wouldn't mind paying extra for fighters from EA since they would no doubt look better then the user-made CAF, the announcer will call the CAF by name and the commentators have extra dialog.

Looking at FNR4 and UFC2009 since both games came out pretty close to eachother, THQ has done nothing to balance the gameplay or support the game through any real DLC (2 fighters that were pre-order bonuses is lame). The patch they came out with only dealt with lag and disconnectors, the ground game hasn't been balanced out to stop stick hugging. FNR4 however has and is still going to get updated and has meaningful DLC with new equipment and fighters while having the mechanics tweaked for balance reasons. So far I think EA has shown that it cares more about it's online communities then THQ.|||

Well you are absolutely right, I dont know why I forgot about FNR4 in the first place, but I still see DLC getting announced for that game on a regular basis.
Today I visited the Undisputed sites and they are begging people to vote for them in the Spike VGA Awards. I voted for FNR4 instead. :)|||This is stupid. Why wait 2 years until another game update? EA you could cash much more money by releasing a new version each year. I would suggest that you should leave boxing for a while, focusing instead to MMA. Please no I want MMa every year, boxing sucks as a sport!|||

I'd probably buy this game every year aswell but lets be honest. Which yearly franchise really gives their games a decent update? Most of the times its a roster update with some slight changes. Not worth the 60$ if you'd ask me..
Then again, if the game sells good I would not be surprised if they release it every year instead. After all FNR is done by a different team so it doesnt make any sense anyway.|||Plus the year they dont release we can expect a fun DLC.
