heres the vid..
as a ufc undisputed fan.. i can say that ea mma's online mode is better than ufc undisputed 2010's online..
anyway.. in 0:30 mark of the vid.. it says that you can be a champion in a certain division and you will defend your belt against contenders..
its an old idea.. but i really like it.. but if you play fight night round 4.. youll know that belt hugging is going to be a problem with this championship belt thingy..
a-holes will hug those championship belts as long as they want.. cherry pick or deny someone in getting his title shot..
now my question is this.. how are you (EA Sports) going to solve this problem?
|||idk good ? but maybe a time frame where u have to defend ur belt and if u don't u will be stripped of it but idk.|||how bout you have to fight every 3 days or you will lose the title|||You think devs didnt notice how bad belts were handled in FN? They mostlikely fixed it & theres a few solutions that couldve been applied.
If you are playing ranked, you are playing the belt mode. Its the same thing & your matched up with people of your skill level. If you are looking for a match & have a belt you will probably get a contendor or another championship holder randomly no matter what.
Striking looks better in EA MMA|||Online looks really good. I like all the features they added. Awesome Job Ea.
Hopefully they put a time limit on how long some can be inactive and still hold the belt. That should solve that issue.|||Thanks for bringing it up muay_addict. I remember you were vocal about this on the FN forums too, I was going to mention the huge problem of belt swapping, but you beat me to it :) You are one of the few ppl on this forum who understand just how BAD Fight Night Round 4 was online.
captcha: tativina that|||Well at the beginning of the online belt mode it says it will pair you up with people of the same skill level. So more then likely cherry picking won't be a problem since you will be facing people of the same level or rank.|||yea im sure they're fully aware of what happened with fnr4... like other's have said it will match u up with someone at the same skill level as yourself, so i dont see how u would be able to cherry pick fights... also, a 2-3 day deadline for defending your title would definatly help out some aswell|||By the looks of it either there's more than one belt. Notice it you pick you weight class first and then it says "searching for champion". So looks like it automatically picks who gets to fight the champion and there is more than one.|||

Yes obviously there is more than one.|||

Yes, I think "belt hugging" will be a non issue, as there are multiple belts, so even if someone holds onto one and doesn't fight anymore it doesn't hurt anything as someone can just win won off someone else.
Also, from what I gather/assume (and this is obviously speculation about how the mode works) once you win the belt your fights thereafter will be title fights until you lose it. So the only way you can 'belt hug' would presumably be to not play online at all.. which, who cares if someone really wants to do that?

you have different championship belts in fight night round 4 based on weight class.. and belt hugging is an issue in fn4..
i wanna know how EA combat this problem in EA MMA..|||

Again, from what I gather (and it's just speculation) it seems that everyone online will be matched with someone similar in skill level until you build up to a certain point where you are ready for a championship fight. If you win that championship fight, you now have a title and now upon going to a ranked match in that weight category with that fighter you will be defending your belt automatically.
I'm sure if you win a belt you could hold onto it by no longer playing in that weight class, but there is more than just one belt per weight class I'm sure, so there will be plenty of champions crowned and ready to defend I would think.|||I really don't buy MMA games for online. Even if this game is the best MMA game to date people will find some way to exploit online to make it cheap. It happens with almost EVERY online fighting game, especially MMA because it is hard to polish and balance a game like this. The only fighting game that with any kind of balance comes from the Capcom company and thats just because fighting games are their bread and butter since they have been doing it for many many years now.|||

Like ppl have been saying. If you play ranked your gonna have to defend your belt no matter what. The matchmaking is skill level based. So if your a champion, you will have to face a contendor. If you plan on belt hugging you wont be able to play ranked at all.Besides belts arent like a huge deal, its something to keep things interesting. Once you reach the level of a contendor you will always be able to get a titleshot
